The Inspector recommends that area(s) of the home have re-grading to improve drainage near the foundation. 2.10 DOOR EXTERIORS INSPECTED (1) Replacing weather stripping and door sweeps is a good way to increase energy efficiency in your home. Weather stripping helps prevent air leaks around doors and windows, while door sweeps can help prevent air and moisture from entering your home through the bottom of the door. Both of these items are relatively easy to install and can help lower your energy costs by reducing the amount of air that escapes or enters your home. (2) Deteriorating paint was observed on the exterior of the garage access door at the time of inspection. Failing paint can expose underlying materials to moisture and lead to further deterioration. Walls in the home showed general minor deterioration commensurate with the age of the home. Cracks in areas at interior of home appeared to be the result of long-term settling. Some settling is not unusual in a home of this age and these cracks are not a structural concern.
